You will have noticed grass here. Luscious, green, gorgeous grass, studded with wild flowers. But WHY is it fenced off? Why can’t you frolic through that fantastic meadow, and picnic amongst the blooms?!
The answer is - COWS.
The cows graze in the high Alpine meadows all summer - and they spend the winter snuggled into barns down here in the snow-covered valley. While they’re down here in winter, they feast on all the gorgeous grass (hay) that the farmers have collected all summer.
So. Take a picture from the edge of the field only… and leave the grass for the cows!
